Backup your IBM i to the Cloud - faster than Tape!Wouldn't it be great to backup your IBM i system to the Cloud, and never worry about sending tapes offsite ever again? The problem with backing up and restoring directly to the Cloud is that it can be slow - and expensive! We've fixed these problems by making our UBD Cloud a hybrid cloud backup appliance. All of your backups go directly to the local appliance, at speeds up to three times as fast as tape. Your backups are stored on the appliance, deduped, compressed, and encrypted - up to 50 TB of full backups. UBD Virtual Backup Appliance (VBA) offers iSeries Backup up to 100 TBLaserVault Universal Backup Device™ is now available with internal deduplication, giving you up to 100 TB of local disk to disk backup storage. Because UBD looks like a standard LTO tape drive to your IBM i (iSeries) host, you can use standard DUPTAP commands to make duplicate tapes for offsite and DR purposes, while having all the benefits of disk to disk backup at your local site. Universal Backup Device™ (UBD) Throughput increases 150%LaserVault has increased Fibre Channel throughput 150% in our Universal Backup Device (UBD™) to an amazing 205MB/second.
LaserVault Announces Universal Backup Device™ for IBM IUniversal Backup Device™ (UBD) is a FC-connected appliance that appears as a tape device to your IBM i (iSeries, AS/400) host, or to your Windows server. This means you can replace your tape drive with UBD™ (pronounced “You Bet”) and continue to backup and restore via BRMS, Robot/Save or any other backup software package without programming or CL changes. The only difference to the operator is that instead of getting up to retrieve and load one or more tape cartridges, they can use the UBD™ browser-based interface to create and load a new tape image file before backup. Motion Industries Does Multiple Backups Per Day...We have been using your LaserVault Backup product in conjunction with DataDomain offsite data storage solution for over two years. We are extremely impressed with the performance, intuitive operational qualities and its reliability. Technical Support provided by your company and your ability to work hand-in-hand with DataDomain makes your solution top notch. Farmington Company needed encryption ...The Farmington Company said they had been directed to begin encrypting their off-site backup tapes. But Tim Swartz, IS Manager, found LaserVault Backup a better fit, "Our directive was to encrypt backup tapes, and your product has allowed us to meet that requirement. In addition, we are backing up more libraries than when we were using tape, both on nightly and weekend backups." Grocery Outlet Inc. discovers "Look Ma - no hands" functionality ...Steve Tuscher, Director of IT at Grocery Outlet Inc. told us, "For years our AS400 - i5 administrators have envied the simplicity and reliability of the Data Domain disk backup appliance." But when it came to the AS400, Steve said, "Unfortunately, we could never enjoy the same peace of mind on the AS/400." Until now! |
