Texas State Bank plugs security hole...One of the things that had kept me up at night for so long was the fact that we were transporting our backup tapes to an off-site location after our daily processing was completed. This was done with the best of intentions to satisfy an auditor or an examiner. But to me, this practice opened up a serious hole in our security concerning confidential customer information if the tape somehow “left our control” between the bank and our backup... Farmington Company needed encryption ...The Farmington Company said they had been directed to begin encrypting their off-site backup tapes. In addition, we are backing up more libraries than when we were using tape, both on nightly and weekend backups." Grocery Outlet Inc. discovers "Look Ma - no hands" functionality ...Steve Tuscher, Director of IT at Grocery Outlet Inc. told us, "For years our AS400 - i5 administrators have envied the simplicity and reliability of the Data Domain disk backup appliance."
